PHYS 110L - Introductory Astronomy Lab

Student must be concurrently enrolled in PHYS 110. An introductory study of the universe. Topics will include ancient astronomy (Greek and Native American) and the Copernican Revolution, solar system, stars, stellar evolution, galaxies, black holes, big bang cosmology, the expanding universe and astronomical meansurements and instruments. Hands -on exercises in the study of the universe. The astronomy laboratory is optional.
